The San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers under Infrared Light

I have wanted to visit the conservatory of flowers for a few years now, but I was really excited to take some infrared photos of it. The conservatory of flowers is a green house in the heart of San Francisco, located inside Golden Gate Park. We were heading into the city to shop and decided to take a detour to finally visit the area before dinner.

You need to buy tickets to enter the building but on a sunny day there are tons of people just outside enjoying the grounds around it as well. So bring a picnic blanket and a chair if you want to hang out for a while.

The inside of the conservatory is fairly small and if you are just there to take pictures should only take you 30mins. If you are going also because you are a plant aficionado and want to explore the exotic plants plan to stay an hour or two.

Equipment

I took my full spectrum converted lumix gf3 with a kit lens and the Vision Architect Optics infrared orange filter. Here is some information on the conversion process I did.

If you are interested in getting your camera converted and the VAO filter check out their website here.
